Drill out with a drill ∅ 6 mm the points of resistance welding of the panel (pic. 177) with bulkhead shield, mudguard 8, connectors, grooves 3 roof beams 7, sidewalls 4 and internal racks 5 of the frame. Remove the frame panel, straighten the edges of the mating parts and clean them with a grinder on both sides. Drill holes with a ∅ 5 mm drill at the edges of the new panel at the joints with a pitch: with an amplifier 2 frames at the window opening 90 mm, at the opening of the engine compartment 60 mm, with a front shield 40-50 mm, with grooves 3 sidewalls 30-35 mm, with sidewalls 4 and uprights 5 frame 45 mm, with beam 7 roof 60 mm (in the place of the window opening there are three holes with a pitch of 400 mm), with connectors 20-30 mm.
Pic. 177. Complete (A) and options for partial (b) windshield frame panel replacement: 1 - frame panel; 2 - frame reinforcement; 3 - drain groove; 4 - side panel; 5 - internal rack of the frame; 6 - roof panel; 7 - roof beam; 8 - mudguard. The arrows on the fragments show the places of drilling
The edges of the frame panel are cleaned, the frame reinforcement is installed in place and welded to the frame by electric welding in a carbon dioxide environment. Install the panel with the amplifier in place and fix it with grippers. Reinstall the front fenders, hood and check the fit of the panel. The panel is welded at the corners by gas welding and the fit of the panel is checked again.
The front fenders and hood are removed, the panel is welded along the drilled points by electric welding in a carbon dioxide environment with Sv.08G1S wire and the removed parts are put in place.
When partially replacing the windshield frame panel (see fig. 177b) drill the points of contact welding of the damaged part of the panel, cut down with a thin sharpened chisel or cut off the damaged part of the panel with a grinder and remove it from the frame. A new part of the panel is installed on the body, fixed with clamps and welded using the technology for replacing the entire panel.
