Removal and installation the front wing (VAZ-2108)

To remove the wing, remove the socket with the turn signal lamp. Unscrew the self-tapping screws (wing mounting points 2 are shown in figure 174): four screws on the top flange, one at the front bottom and one at the back bottom; two screws for fastening to the front pillar (under the wing). If it is not possible to unscrew the front screw at the bottom, first unscrew the two screws securing the bumper to the side bracket and, to access the specified screw securing the wing, push the bumper cover to the side.

Carefully detach the wing and remove the insulating pads from the points where the wing contacts the body. Remove the turn signal from the wing.

The installation of the wing is performed in the reverse order. It is recommended to install new insulating gaskets. In cases of installing aluminum wings, to prevent contact of aluminum with steel, it is necessary to additionally install insulating washers made of paronite or textolite with a thickness of 1.5 mm under the screw washers. Due to the enlarged holes in the wing, before the final tightening of the screws, the uniformity of the gaps of the wing with other elements of the body is adjusted.

After replacing the wing, an anti-corrosion coating is applied to its inner surface.
