To remove the wing, take out the cartridge with the turn signal lamp. Remove self-tapping screws (2 wing attachment points shown in fig. 174): four screws on the top flange, one each at the bottom front and bottom rear; two screws securing to the front pillar (under the wing). If it is impossible to unscrew the front screw at the bottom, first unscrew the two screws securing the bumper to the side bracket and, in order to access the indicated wing fastening screw, push the bumper pad to the side.
Carefully disconnect the wing and remove the insulating gaskets from the points of contact of the wing with the body. Remove the turn signal from the fender.
The installation of the wing is carried out in the reverse order. It is recommended to install new insulating gaskets. In cases where aluminum wings are installed, in order to prevent contact between aluminum and steel, it is necessary to additionally install insulating washers made of paronite or textolite 1.5 mm thick under the screw washers. Due to the enlarged holes in the wing, before the final tightening of the screws, the uniformity of the gaps of the wing with other elements of the body is adjusted.
After replacing the wing, an anti-corrosion coating is applied to its inner surface.
