Place the new roof panel on the body and determine the places for cutting the body pillars. Cut off the roof panel with a thin, sharp chisel or cut it off with a grinder, stepping back 6-8 mm from the panel bend (by strokes - Figure 174). Cut the panel on the pillars, stepping back 10-15 mm upward from the marking. Disconnect the roof panel from the body elements, remove the remaining strips of the panel and clean up the subsidence areas of the body and the new roof panel. Straighten the body elements at the joints with the roof panel, adjust the new panel in place and fix it with clamps.

The panel is welded using gas welding, using brass rods L63 or L62 at points 1. The fit of the roof panel is checked and it is welded using spot welding with a pitch of 45 mm along the front and rear edges, and 30 mm on the sides. The joints of the panel with the posts are brazed with hard solder and the seam is cleaned.
In the absence of a contact welding machine, electric welding in a carbon dioxide environment with Sv.08G1S wire with a diameter of 0.8 mm or gas welding with L63 or L62 brass rods with a diameter of 2-3 mm is allowed.
