Normal deflection A (pic. 51) belt should be within 8-10 mm with a force of 10 kgf. To adjust the tension of the belt 4, loosen the nut 1 securing the generator 3 to the tension bar 2. Move the generator away from the engine (to increase tension) or to the engine (to reduce tension) and tighten the nut /. Turn the crankshaft two turns clockwise and check the belt tension.

The belt must not be over-tensioned so as not to cause an increase in loads on the generator bearings.
