Normal deflection A (figure 51) the belt should be within 8-10 mm at a force of 10 kgf. To adjust the belt tension 4, loosen nut 1 securing generator 3 to tension bar 2. Move the generator away from the engine (to increase tension) or to the engine (to reduce tension) and tighten the nut /. Turn the crankshaft two turns clockwise and check the belt tension.

Avoid over-tensioning the belt to avoid placing increased loads on the generator bearings.
