3. Brake the vehicle with the parking brake and place wheel chocks under the rear wheels ("shoes"). Raise and support the front of the vehicle. Remove the wheel.
1. Remove the protective cap of the hub nut by prying it out with a screwdriver.
2. Loosen the hub nut and unscrew it.
Loosen the hub nut with the car on the ground!
Loosen and tighten the wheel bolts only when the vehicle is on the ground. Bolt tightening torque 65–95 Nm (6.5–9.5 kgf·m).
4. Remove the thrust washer using a screwdriver.
5. Remove the brake caliper and hang it on a wire to the spring, making sure that the brake hose is not twisted or kinked.
Before removing the brake caliper, first remove the brake pads. This will make it easier to put the bracket in place.
6. Remove the brake disc from the guide pins.
7. Remove the three mounting bolts and remove the brake shield.
8. Remove the two bolts and disconnect the suspension arm ball joint from the steering knuckle.
9. Mark the position of the eccentric (top bolt) relative to the rack bracket.
10. Loosen the two nuts and remove both mounting bolts.
11. Disconnect the steering knuckle from the rack bracket and remove it from the drive shaft.
