Note: A special wrench is required for the upper shock absorber mounting nut. Without it, it is quite difficult to loosen the nut.
Caution! Loosen and tighten the wheel mounting bolts only with the vehicle on the ground. Tightening torque of the bolts is 65–95 N·m (6.5–9.5 kgf·m).

3. Brake the vehicle with the parking brake and install the anti-rollback stops ("shoes") under the rear wheels. Jack up the front of the vehicle and place it on the supports. Remove the wheel (see warning).
1. Remove the upper strut mount protective cap.
2. Loosen the upper shock absorber rod mounting nut with a special key (see note).
4. Remove the cotter pin from the nut securing the ball joint of the steering rod to the steering arm.
5. Loosen the tie rod ball joint mounting nut and press the ball joint pin out of the steering arm.
6. Remove the rubber seal from the bracket together with the brake hose.
7. Mark the position of the eccentric (top bolt) relative to the rack bracket.
Note: Front strut lower cam bolt.
8. Unscrew the two nuts and remove both mounting bolts.
9. Remove the steering knuckle eye from the strut bracket.
10. Unscrew the three nuts of the upper rack mount.
11. Pull the rack down through the wheel well.
