Removing
1. We prepare the car for work (see "Preparing the car for maintenance and repair").
2. We press out the fingers of the ball joints of both outer ends of the steering rods from the pivot arms of the front suspension struts (see "Tie rod end - removal and installation").
3. Unscrew and remove the coupling bolt of the lower flange of the elastic coupling and open the flange with a large slotted screwdriver (see "Steering column - removal and installation").
4. Deep socket socket wrench by 13 mm we turn off two nuts of the right and left brackets of fastening of the steering mechanism to the partition of the engine compartment.
5. Remove the steering gear mounting brackets, move the steering gear slightly forward, removing it from the mounting studs and disengaging the drive gear shaft from engagement with the lower coupling flange.
6. Turning the steering mechanism with the drive gear shaft up, we remove it from the engine compartment through the opening in the left mudguard.
Installation
We install the steering gear in the reverse order, while the assistant in the passenger compartment puts the lower coupling flange on the steering gear shaft in the required position (see "Steering column - removal and installation").
