Comment. One cause of low fuel rail pressure could be a dirty fuel module strainer
Removing
1. Remove the fuel module (see "Fuel module for 21114 and 21124 engines (1,6i) - removal and installation").
2. Remove the fuel gauge sensor (see "Fuel module for 21114 and 21124 engines (1,6i) - replacement of the fuel gauge sensor").
3. Using pliers with thin jaws, remove the retaining ring from the guide cover of the fuel module.
Warning! With a marker, mark the guide on which the spring is put on. It is impossible to rearrange the spring to another guide.
4. Having removed the guide covers from the fuel module housing, remove the spring.
5. Disconnect the three latches.
6. We take out the fuel pump assembly with the strainer from the housing.
7. We remove dirt deposits from the fuel module housing and wash the housing in clean gasoline.
8. We wash the mesh filter in a solvent for nitro-paint and blow it with compressed air (from compressor or foot pump).
Recommendation. If the mesh filter is very dirty and cannot be cleaned, replace it separately (see below, "Fuel module for 21114 and 21124 engines (1,6i) - fuel pump replacement") or fuel module assembly.
Installation
We assemble the fuel module in reverse order.
