If during operation there are signs of brake fluid leakage on the brake drum and the inner side of the wheel, replace the slave cylinder.
Repairing the working cylinder usually does not lead to positive results, and special tools are needed for this. Therefore, it is recommended to replace the cylinder as a whole.
You will need: a 10 mm wrench and pliers.
1. Engage 1st gear and place chocks under the front wheels. Remove the corresponding wheel and brake pads.
2. Clean the brake pipe mounting location and wheel cylinder mounting bolts from dirt on the back of the brake shield. To make it easier to unscrew the cylinder mounting bolts and brake pipe mounting nut, apply a liquid such as WD-40 to the threaded connections.
3. Unscrew the nut securing the brake pipe to the working cylinder.
4. Disconnect the brake hose from the working cylinder, plugging the hose hole, for example, with a bleed valve cap.
5. Unscrew the two bolts securing the working cylinder, holding it from the other side.
6. Remove the slave cylinder from the brake shield.
7. Install the slave cylinder in the reverse order of removal.
8. Remove air from the hydraulic brake system (see "Bleeding the brake system").
Note: You can bleed air from just the replaced slave cylinder without bleeding the entire system.
