Checking the gap between the rack stop and the nut (VAZ-1111)

The steering gear housing is rigidly secured and the rack is set to the middle position, which is determined by the size (115±0.25) mm (figure 114) from the pinion axis to the rack end. Using a special device, load the rack with a force of P = 500±20N, placing the punch of the device on the horizontal section of the rack (the transition point of the cylindrical part into the teeth). The maximum permissible movement of the X-rail on the 80 mm shoulder must not exceed 0.6 mm (approximately, before collecting statistical data).
