Disassembly of the cylinder block consists in removing the balance shafts. They are removed only if it is necessary to replace damaged bearings in the following order.
Remove the thrust half ring 1 (pic. 43), having unscrewed the fastening bolts, and with the help of a technological rod, the shaft is pressed out until the front bearing 2 comes out of the cylinder block seat. The front bearing is removed from the balance shaft, the retaining ring 3 is removed from the cylinder block and the balance shaft 4 is removed. The rear bearing 5 is removed from the cylinder block after pressing out the plug covering the bearing.
Install the balance shaft in the following order. A plug is installed on the UG-6 sealant and the rear bearing is pressed into the cylinder block using a mandrel in the form of a pipe with an outer diameter of 50 mm, an inner diameter of 30 mm and a length of 100 mm. Insert the rear end of the balance shaft into the rear bearing and install the retaining ring 3 into the cylinder block. Press the front bearing into the cylinder block and fix it with a thrust half ring 1.
