To remove parts of this group, install the car on a lift and disconnect the wire from the terminal «minus» battery. Raise the car, remove the engine mudguards and drain the coolant from the radiator and cylinder block. Drain the oil from the engine oil sump.
Unscrew the bolts and remove the front cover of the clutch housing and the oil sump with gasket. Lower the car and remove the cylinder head (see sect. «cylinder head»). Unscrew the connecting rod cap bolts and remove the piston with the connecting rod from the cylinder block upwards.
Install the connecting rod and piston group in the reverse order of removal. In this case, it is necessary to orient the pistons with the arrow towards the front of the engine. Before installing the cylinder head, turn the crankshaft until the mark on the flywheel is aligned with the average risk on the scale (see fig. 67), and turn the camshaft pulley so that the mark on it is on the left.
After installing all the components, engine oil and coolant are poured into the engine. Regulate ignition timing setting and carburetor drive.
