Before starting work: Disconnect the wire from the terminal "–" battery.
Remove the steering wheel (see subsection 6.1.) and steering shaft housings (see subsection 8.4.8., operations 1–3).
The steering column switch must be replaced if the instruments it controls (headlights, windshield wiper), do not function, despite the serviceability of the devices themselves and the corresponding electrical circuits, as well as in case of mechanical damage to the switch.
1. Loosen the steering column clamp bolt.
2. Remove the instrument cluster from the instrument panel (see subsection 8.6.1.) and mark the connecting blocks of the steering column switch wires.
3. Separate pads of wires of the steering column switch.
4. Take out wires with blocks from under the panel of devices.
5. Remove the stalk switch from the steering shaft.
6. Install the steering column switch in the reverse order of removal. Check the operation of electrical equipment controlled by the steering column switch.
