If the runout exceeds the permissible limits, straighten the shafts under a press. In case of large runout, it is recommended to replace the shafts with new ones.
Check the circumferential play in the splined joint of the sliding fork of the front cardan shaft. It should not exceed 0.30 mm. Check the condition of the sleeve and the seal of the sliding coupling. If necessary, replace the seal, and if damaged, the sleeve.
Check the condition of the bearing housings, needles, crosspiece pins, seals, collars and forks. If the bearing housings, crosspiece pins and needles, as well as seals or their collars are damaged or worn, replace the crosspiece assembly with bearings.
The diameter of the fork hole for the needle bearing must not exceed 23.825 mm.
The condition of the rubber elements of the elastic coupling is checked. If there are cracks or separation of the rubber from the metal inserts, the elastic coupling is replaced.
Check the condition of the centering sleeve of the elastic coupling. If the sleeve is significantly worn or damaged, replace the flange assembly.
Determine the condition of the intermediate support bearing by rotating the inner ring in both directions and simultaneously pressing it against the outer ring. The inner ring of the bearing should rotate smoothly, without jamming. Check the bearing seals. If the bearing is worn or damaged, replace it with a new one. Check for damage or deformation of the intermediate support. If necessary, replace it with a new one.
