Removing
To remove the suspension, hang the rear of the car and place it on stands.
- Remove the rear wheels and disconnect the propeller shaft from the final drive gear flange, disconnect the brake hydraulic hose from the steel tube installed on the axle beam, and take measures to prevent fluid from leaking from the brake system (for example, put rubber plugs), separate the parking brake rear cable bracket from the body, remove the front cable release spring and, by unscrewing the lock nut and adjusting nut, release the rear branch of the cable;
- disconnect from the bracket on the bridge beam the pressure regulator drive rod and the upper ends of the shock absorbers;
- placing a hydraulic jack under the bridge beam, disconnect the longitudinal and transverse rods from the body brackets and, lowering the jack, remove the bridge;
- Disconnect the longitudinal and transverse rods from the rear axle beam brackets.
Installation
Install the rear wheel suspension in the reverse order of removal. In this case, group A springs should be installed on the suspension. In exceptional cases, group B springs can be installed on the rear suspension.
To correctly tighten the elastic bushings of the hinges of the rods and shock absorbers, load the rear of the car so that the distance from the beam 3 (pic. 171) the bridge to the side member 1 of the body, measured 100 mm from the bracket 2 of the transverse rod, was 125 mm. After that, use a torque wrench to tighten the nuts on the bolts for attaching the longitudinal and transverse rods, as well as on the pins for attaching the shock absorbers to the beam and body.
