Disassembly and assembly of an engine with an injection system (VAZ-21051)

Removal the central fuel injection unit and intake manifold

1. Remove bracket 3 (see Fig. Removing the original parts from the left front side of the engine) with ignition module 4, and then plug 2 with gasket and retainer 1 with sealing ring.

2. Remove the fuel supply and drain pipes by disconnecting them from the central injection unit and from the bracket on the cylinder head cover.

3. Remove the central injection unit by unscrewing the mounting studs and remove the gasket from the surface of the intake pipe. Remove the intake pipe 2 (see fig. Removing the central fuel injection unit and intake pipe) with heater 1. If necessary, on the workbench, disconnect the heater with the gasket and sealing ring from the inlet pipe.



4. Remove the crankshaft position sensor mounted on the camshaft drive cover

5. Further disassembly of the engine is carried out in the usual order (see subsection 4.3). When removing the connecting rod and piston group, it is not allowed to press out the connecting rod bolts.

Just like other VAZ engines, cylinder blocks must be bored and honed for repair pistons during repair (increased by 0.4 and 0.8 mm) taking into account the provision of the calculated clearance between the piston and the cylinder of 0.025 – 0.045 mm.

When measuring cylinders, gauge 67.8125.9502 is used to set the indicator to zero.
