Replace spark plugs every 15,000 km of vehicle mileage. For reliable engine starting in cold weather, it is recommended to replace spark plugs with new ones, even if they are still functional. Such spark plugs can be used in warm weather.
At each maintenance:
- check and, if necessary, adjust the ignition timing;
- check and, if necessary, clean the side electrodes 4 with fine-grained sandpaper (see figure 107) in the ignition distributor cover and the contacts on its rotor 5. Wipe the outer and inner surfaces of the cover and the rotor of the ignition distributor with a clean chamois soaked in gasoline or another lint-free material.
