Starter Maintenance (VAZ-2109)

After every 45,000 km of vehicle mileage, carefully clean the collector with fine-grained sandpaper, check the wear and fit of the brushes to the collector. Replace brushes worn to a height of 12 mm with new ones. At the same time, it is necessary to clean and lubricate with engine oil the helical splines of the anchor shaft, the anchor shaft bushings in the rear cover and in the clutch housing and the gear. Lubricate the drive ring with Litol-24 consistent grease.
