Advice. The engine crankcase protection must be made of metal with a thickness of at least 2.0 mm, otherwise it will not perform its function.
Depending on the design, the protection may differ in the method of attachment. As a rule, the protection is fastened at the front with three nuts securing the engine mudguard, at the rear with nuts from the bolts of the front suspension wishbones.
To complete the work, you will need a viewing hole or overpass.
Execution sequence
1. We prepare the car for work (see "Preparing the car for maintenance and repair").
2. socket wrench by 19 mm unscrew the nut of the bolt of the transverse lever (1), while holding the bolt with a wrench of the same size. Similarly, unscrew the nut of the second lever (1). socket wrench by 10 mm unscrew the three central nuts (2) front engine mudguard mount.
3. We install the protection from the back, putting it on the bolts of the transverse levers with lugs. We raise the front part of the protection, bringing it into engagement with the studs of the engine mudguard. We bait and wrap the nuts of the front mounting of the protection (2).
4. We wrap and tighten the nuts of the bolts of the transverse levers.
