- assistant;
- a special key for the bleed nipple or a socket wrench by 8 mm;
- clear vinyl tube of suitable diameter;
- brake fluid drain container;
- fresh brake fluid as recommended by the manufacturer (see table 16.4);
- inspection pit or overpass (desirable).
Sequence of execution
1. Prepare the car for work (see "Preparing the car for maintenance and repair").
2. Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the brake fluid level emergency drop sensor connector and remove the reservoir cap (see "Low Brake Fluid Sensor - Checking and Replacing").
Warning! To prevent air from entering the hydraulic drive of the brake system, when replacing the brake fluid, make sure that its level in the reservoir does not fall below the "MIN" mark.
3. Using a bulb, remove the working fluid from the reservoir of the main brake cylinder.
4. Pour new fluid into the tank up to the top edge of the tank.
5. Bleed the hydraulic circuits of the brake system (see "Hydraulic brake drive - bleeding").
6. We bleed each wheel cylinder until the new one starts to come out (lighter) brake fluid from the nipple.
7. After replacing the fluid in both circuits, check the operation of the hydraulic drive and bring the fluid level in the master brake cylinder reservoir to normal.
