Comment. It is more convenient to check the sensor with an assistant
Examination
1. We prepare the car for work (see "Preparing the car for maintenance and repair").
2. Turn on the starter for a short time to make sure that the low brake fluid level warning light is working. For further verification, leave the ignition on.
Comment. If the low brake fluid warning light is OK, it should be on when the starter is turned on. A defective lamp must be replaced (see table. 16.3) and only then proceed with the test.
3. Pressing from above, we sink the sensor float rod. At the same time, the warning lamp for insufficient brake fluid level should light up on the instrument panel.
Comment. If the control lamp does not light up, then the terminals in the block itself may have oxidized, a break in the wire, or the sensor is faulty. To verify the integrity of the wires, it is enough to close the terminals of the connecting block. The control lamp should light up. A defective sensor must be replaced.
Removing
1. Turn off the ignition.
2. Disconnect the wiring harness block from the sensor.
3. Turn off the reservoir cap of the main brake cylinder.
Removing the sensor float from the tank, remove the sensor. The defective sensor is replaced as an assembly.
Installation
Install the sensor in reverse order.
