Note: The latest models of cars have a modernized heater, which prevents the removal of the windshield wiper. To remove the windshield wiper from such a car, before performing the work, turn on the wiper at low speed. When the wiper arms are in the vertical position, turn off the ignition.
Removal
1. Prepare the car for work (see "Preparing the car for maintenance and repair").
2. Remove the ventilation system air intake grille (see "Air intake grille of the ventilation system - removal and installation").
3. After loosening the clamp, disconnect the steam outlet hose of the heater radiator from the expansion tank pipe (see "Expansion tank - removal and installation").
4. We press the steam outlet hose into the holes in the left part of the engine compartment trim.
5. Using a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the screw connecting the parts of the engine compartment trim.
6. Remove the left part of the engine compartment trim (see "Engine compartment trim - removal and installation").
7. Connect the steam outlet hose of the heater radiator to the expansion tank (possible without installing a clamp), to prevent coolant from spilling.
8. Disconnect the rubber belt securing the expansion tank of the cooling system and move the tank away from the windshield wiper motor-reducer without disconnecting the hoses.
9. With a socket wrench by 10 mm unscrew the nut securing the shaft of the right windshield wiper arm.
10. Using the same key, unscrew the nut securing the shaft of the left windshield wiper arm.
11. With a socket wrench by 10 mm we unscrew the bolt that secures the gear motor to the bracket.
12. Disconnect the windshield wiper wiring harness connector.
13. Carefully, trying not to damage the windshield frame, remove the windshield wiper arms from under the frame and remove the windshield wiper.
Installation
Note: If the windshield wiper is new or has been repaired, connect its connector to the vehicle's electrical system. Turn on the wiper briefly and then disconnect it from the power supply (turning off the ignition) at the moment when the crank pull turns the lever shafts to the extreme (clockwise) position. This corresponds to the vertical position of the brushes on the glass
We install the windshield wiper in the reverse order.
