The windshield wiper consists of a gear motor with rods and two levers with brushes. Power is supplied to the gear motor's electric motor via an additional relay when the ignition is turned on. To protect the gear motor from overloads, a bimetallic fuse is built into its internal circuit.
To supply the washer fluid to the windshield, two washer nozzles are installed in the air intake grille. The fluid is supplied to them through an elastic tube from a tank fixed to the left mudguard of the engine compartment, by an electric pump. The pump is installed on the wall of the tank. A sensor for insufficient washer fluid level is also built into the tank.
Recommendation: In winter, it is necessary to fill the windshield washer reservoir with a special antifreeze liquid.
The rear window wiper is mounted on the trunk door and consists of a gear motor and a lever with a brush. To supply the washer fluid to the rear window, a nozzle is installed above the rear door. The fluid is supplied to the nozzle from a tank mounted on the right mudguard of the engine compartment, by an electric pump. The pump is mounted on the wall of the tank. The tank is attached to the body with a rubber belt.
