Checking the axial runout of the brake disc

1 – magnetic stand; 2 – indicator; 3 – brake disc

1 – magnetic stand; 2 – indicator; 3 – brake disc

Check the axial runout of the brake disc without removing it from the vehicle.

The maximum permissible runout according to the indicator is 0.15 mm.

If the runout is greater, machine the disc using the 67.7141.9500 mandrel, then grind it, but the final thickness of the disc should not be less than 9.5 mm.

If damaged or with very deep scratches, or if wear exceeds 0.5 mm on each side, replace the disc with a new one.

Attention! The brake disc must be changed only together with the front wheel bearing hub, since its final processing is carried out together with the hub.

The original can be seen on the website [VazBook.ru]

Removal and installation of the hub with brake disc are described in subsection 8.1.5.
