An interior rear view mirror is installed on the inside of the windshield using Loctite glue LT 356 or LT 317 (it is not shown in figure 147). When installing a new windshield, the mirror mounting plate should be glued to the glass along the vehicle axis, its bottom should be 105 mm from the upper edge of the glass. First, degrease the glass at the gluing point with ethyl or isopropyl alcohol, apply LT 736 activator to it with a brush, then 1-2 drops of LT 317 glue and press the plate to the glass for 60 s. After 24 hours, after the adhesive bond has gained strength, the windshield can be put back in place.
To remove a damaged windshield, remove the windshield wiper arms, tuck the edges of the seals behind the body opening flange and, pressing from the passenger compartment on the upper corners of the glass, squeeze it out. In this case, an assistant should support the glass from the outside.
When installing the windshield, lubricate the grooves of the clean seals 2 (figure 148), with which it will lie on the flange of the body opening, glycerin or soapy water, and put the cord 1 into the groove using a screwdriver. Then put the glass with seals in the body opening and pull the ends of the cord from the inside of the body so that the seal sits in place. The assistant should press lightly on the glass from the outside.

The side and rear windows are held in place by rubber seals, just like the windshield. The glass removal and installation procedures are the same as for the windshield.
Windscreens and rear windows are interchangeable in all the cars under consideration. The remaining windows are interchangeable: in the VAZ-2108 with the windows of its modifications, and in the VAZ-2109 with the windows of the VAZ-21093.
