The anti-corrosion substance is applied to the hidden cavities of the body by the method of air or airless spraying. Air spraying requires compressed air at a pressure of 5...8 kgf/cm2, paint spray gun with reservoir, hoses and extended spray nozzles. The best quality of the coating is achieved with airless spraying under pressure up to 90...1.20 kgf/cm2, which allows you to spray materials of significant viscosity.
Of the anti-corrosion compounds, an auto-preservative thresholds are used «Movil-2» and protective lubricant NGM-ML. «Movil-2» processing of surfaces previously coated with gear or other oils, as well as rusty surfaces, is allowed. Drying time «Movilya-2» 20...30 min at 20°C. If necessary, the autopreservative is diluted with white spirit or gasoline. The NGM-ML protective lubricant is used to treat the hidden cavities of new cars at a car factory. Drying time NGM-ML 15 minutes at a temperature of +20°C. If necessary, NGM-ML is diluted with white spirit.
The sequence of anti-corrosion treatment of hidden cavities of a car is as follows:
- 1. Install the car on a lift, remove parts and upholstery that prevent access to hidden cavities.
- 2. Rinse with warm water (40...50°C) through technological and drainage holes hidden cavities (tab. 7), bottom of the body and wheel arches until clean water flows out. In this case, the windows of the front and rear doors must be raised.
- 3. Remove water that has entered the cabin, blow out all hidden cavities and other places where the anti-corrosion compound will be applied with compressed air.
- 4. Drive the car into the chamber for applying anti-corrosion composition and put it on a lift. Apply an anti-corrosion compound with a spray gun to the places indicated in fig. 161, 162, 163 and 164.
- 5. Lower the car and clean the front surfaces of the body from dirt with a rag soaked in white spirit.
