Pastes close microcracks and pores that occur during the operation of the paintwork, thereby preventing corrosion under the paint layer.
When storing the car in the cold season at negative temperatures in an open parking lot under the cover, make sure that the cover does not adhere to the painted surfaces of the body in order to avoid damage to the paint (blisters, peeling). For normal ventilation of painted surfaces, soft gaskets with a height of at least 20 mm are placed between the cover and the body. The cover must be made of breathable material. The use of covers made of airtight materials and having no ventilation holes in the area of the wind and rear windows contributes to the condensation on the surface of the body of moisture, which, if exposed for a long time, can lead to damage to the body paint.
The car is washed with a low-pressure water jet until the dirt has dried. Sponges and shampoo are used. Wash in the shade in the summer if possible. If this is not possible, then immediately wipe the washed surfaces dry so that when the water droplets dry, spots do not form on the surfaces. In winter, the body is washed in a warm room, the body is wiped dry before leaving, and the door and hood seals are also wiped. In winter, you can clean the paintwork of the body without the use of water using «quick detergent with silicone».
It is not allowed to wash the car with soda and alkaline solutions to prevent tarnishing of the body surfaces. Before washing the car, clean the drainage holes at the bottom of the thresholds and doors.
Plastic parts are recommended to be cleaned with car shampoo «Foamy» in aerosol package, «Auto cleaner-1 upholstery» or wipe with a damp cloth. It is not recommended to use gasoline or thinners so that the plastic parts do not lose their shine.
In the first 2-3 months of car operation, the body surface is washed with cold water. When polishing a new coating (up to 3 years) use non-abrasive polishing agents for new coatings.
When operating cars in the period from 3 to 5 years, it is necessary to use car polishes for weathered coatings, which have a small amount of abrasive substances in their composition; after 5 years of intensive use - use car polishes for old coatings. To prevent the car polish from drying out, the body is polished in small areas by hand with a clean flannel.
To eliminate minor defects in the paintwork, you can use the VAZ-1, VAZ-2 polishing pastes and the VAZ-OZ polishing compound. Polishing can be done by hand or with a power tool with flannel or zigek wheels. Before use, stir the paste, dilute with water when thickened. After polishing, wipe the surface with a clean flannel.
To keep the surface of the body shiny for a long time, you should not leave the car for a long time in the sun, and you should not allow acids, brake fluid and gasoline to get on the surface of the body.
If signs of corrosion are found (corrosion deposits, paint swelling, etc.) it is necessary to grind the damaged surfaces with sanding paper 55S 4-P and apply layers of primer GF-073, EF-093 and 2-3 layers of synthetic enamel ML-197.
Due to the complexity of the selection of the color scheme, it is necessary to paint the entire part, and not its individual sections.
