At the car factory, polyvinyl chloride plastic compound of the Plastisol D-11 A brand with a thickness of 1...1.5 mm is applied to the lower surface of the body base, side members, cross members and wheel arches for noise insulation and protection against corrosion.
Before restoring the coating, place the car on a lift, carefully inspect the underbody and identify coating defects. Clean the underbody from dirt, remove rust with a spatula, sandpaper and blow with compressed air. To remove rust, you can use the rust cleaner "Omega-1" or auto rust converter. Place the car in the chamber for applying mastic on the lift and remove the wheels. Cover the drums and brake discs with protective covers, isolate the mufflers, cables and other places that cannot be treated with mastic with thick paper and adhesive tape.
In case of damage to the protective coating of the bottom without breaking the soil layer, the damaged areas are degreased with a rag soaked in white spirit and anti-noise mastic BPM-1 with a thickness of 1...1.5 mm is applied to the dry surface with a brush. The coating is dried in natural conditions for 24 hours or at a temperature of 90°C for 30 minutes. Restoring the coating with plastisol D-11 A is more difficult, since its drying requires a temperature of 130°C for 30 minutes.
In cases of significant damage to the protective coating with damage to the primer layer, the surface is ground to the metal, degreased and primer GF-073 or GF-20 is applied. Then, mastic BPM-1 is applied to the primed areas of the surface with a brush.
If the vehicle has been in operation for no more than 1...1.5 years, the overlap of the mastic layer over the old coating layer should be minimal. If the vehicle has been in operation for a longer period, the mastic should be applied over the entire surface of the body bottom and wheel arches.
The paintwork of the car body, contaminated with mastic, is cleaned with a rag soaked in white spirit.
In the cold season, before use, the mastic must be kept in a warm room to a temperature of at least + 20°C. The thickened mastic is diluted with xylene in an amount of no more than 3% by volume.
