The electric motor is switched on using sensor 2 (figure 131) and auxiliary relay 5, installed in the mounting block. The sensor is screwed into the right radiator tank. When the coolant temperature (and sensor) exceeds (99±3)°C, the sensor contacts close and voltage is supplied through them to the winding of relay 5. The relay operates and turns on the fan electric motor. The sensor contacts open at a temperature of (94±3)°C. In this case, the relay winding is de-energized and it switches off the electric motor.

If the electric motor does not turn on when the coolant temperature is above 102°C, it is necessary to check the wires and their connections in the electric motor start-up system, check the operation of the sensor, remove the relay casing and clean its contacts.
