Some vehicles may be equipped with headlight and rear window wipers together with electromagnetic valves for supplying washer fluid to the headlights and rear window. The wiper connection diagram is shown in Figure 129.

Headlight cleaner
The headlight cleaner consists of two (left and right execution) gear motors with levers and brushes. The levers and brushes are placed in the lower position until the brushes stop against the headlight limiters. Thermal bimetallic fuses are installed in the gear motors to protect against overloads. Headlight cleaner gear motors are manufactured in a non-disassemblable design. Therefore, they cannot be repaired and, in the event of failure, must be replaced with new ones.
Headlight cleaners and headlight washers (electric motor 3 pump and valve 2) are switched on by switch 9 (lever position VII), if voltage is supplied to the headlights by the external lighting switch 10. An auxiliary relay 7 is installed in the mounting block to switch on the headlight washers.
Rear window cleaner
The rear window wiper consists of a gear motor, a lever and a brush. The lever with the brush is laid to the right in the direction of the vehicle. A thermal bimetallic fuse is installed in the gear motors to protect against overloads. The design of the gear motor allows it to be disassembled to eliminate minor faults (collector cleaning, etc.).
The rear window wiper is switched on by switch 9 (lever position VIII). In the IX position of the lever, relay 6 is switched on and voltage from it is supplied to the electric motor of the 3 washer pump and to the valve 4 for supplying washer fluid to the rear window. The valve is activated and fluid from the pump is supplied to the rear window. After returning the lever to the VIII position, the electronic relay 6 keeps valve 4 and washer pump 3 switched on for another 5 s.
The troubleshooting procedure for the headlight and rear window wipers is similar to that described above for the windshield wiper.
