Note. Removal, installation, replacement of the camshaft pulley can be performed without this device, it will be possible to unscrew the bolts of the camshaft pulleys, as a rule, without difficulty.
Removing
1. Remove the front timing belt cover (see points 1-4 "Front timing belt cover - removal and installation").
2. If there is a special tool for holding the camshaft pulleys, remove the timing belt and alternately, holding the camshaft pulleys with this tool, unscrew the bolts of their fastening with a 17 mm wrench.
If there is no fixture, then with a 17 mm socket wrench we loosen the tightening bolts of the camshaft pulleys, holding the crankshaft with a 17 mm wrench from turning by the bolt of its pulley (or by engaging fifth gear and placing chocks under the wheels).
The camshaft pulley can be held by inserting the handles of the pliers into its holes and placing a mounting blade between the handles.
3. Remove the timing belt (see "Timing belt - removal, installation, replacement").
4. Unscrew the bolts securing the camshaft pulley and remove the intake valve pulley assembly with the camshaft position sensor disk.
5. Remove the exhaust camshaft pulley.
6. In order not to lose, we take out the keys from the grooves of the camshafts.
Installation
We install the camshaft pulleys on the car in the reverse order, while making sure that the keys enter the grooves of the pulleys. After installing the camshaft pulleys, install the timing belt (see "Timing belt - removal, installation, replacement") and adjust the tension (see "Timing belt - checking the condition and adjusting the belt tension").
