Note: Unlike the VAZ 21124 (1.6i) engine (for more details see. "Features of the exhaust system") a cast iron exhaust manifold (2) is installed on the VAZ 2112 (1.5i) engine. It is secured to the cylinder head with nuts on eight studs. A two-layer metal gasket is installed between the manifold inlet flange and the head mating plane. The exhaust manifold is covered with a metal screen (4) from above. The screen is installed on the exhaust manifold and secured with three nuts (1) on the studs. The manifold is connected to the inlet pipe from below (see "Exhaust system").

To remove and install the exhaust manifold of the 2112 engine (1.5i), you will need an inspection pit or overpass and a jack.
Removal
1. Treat the threaded connections of the exhaust manifold with penetrating lubricant.
2. Remove the exhaust pipe (see "Engine intake pipe 2112 (1.5i) - removal and installation").
The original is available on the website [www.VazBook.ru]
3. Using a 13 mm socket wrench, unscrew the three nuts securing the protective screen and remove the protective screen.
4. Using a 13 mm socket wrench, unscrew the two nuts securing the coolant pump inlet pipe bracket and remove the bracket.
5. Using a 13 mm socket wrench, unscrew the eight mounting nuts and remove the exhaust manifold from the studs (see point 9 "Catalytic converter of engine manifold 21124 (1.6i) - removal, installation, replacement").
6. Remove the exhaust manifold gasket from the studs (see point 15 "Catalytic converter of engine manifold 21124 (1.6i) - removal, installation, replacement").
Installation
We install all the removed parts on the car in the reverse order. We replace the exhaust manifold gasket with a new one. The tightening torque of the exhaust manifold mounting nuts is 24.5-25.8 N·m (2.5-2.6 kgf·m).
