Camshaft Seals — Replacement (VAZ-2110)

Removal

1. Remove the camshaft toothed pulley (see "Crankshaft toothed pulley - removal, installation, replacement").

2. If the key was not removed after removing the pulley, remove it from its seat.

Caution: When performing the following operation, be careful not to scratch the running surface of the camshaft.

3. Using thin curved pliers, pry the camshaft oil seal out of its seat.

Installation

1. Apply clean engine oil to the working edge of the new camshaft seal and press it in with a plastic-headed hammer (or through a piece of pipe of suitable diameter) so that the outer edge of the camshaft oil seal is flush with the edge of its seat.



2. Similarly, replace the second camshaft oil seal.



3. Install all removed parts on the vehicle in the reverse order of removal.
