Set the gear lever to the neutral position, remove the front protective cover of the toothed belt and turn the crankshaft clockwise until the alignment marks in the camshaft drive are aligned. Loosen the nut securing the tensioner roller axle and turn it until the toothed belt is loosened to the maximum.
Remove the right front wheel, engage IV gear and turn the steering wheel all the way to the right to facilitate access to the front of the engine.
Raise the car on a lift, remove the engine mudguard, loosen the alternator drive belt and remove it from the pulleys. Having unscrewed the fastening bolt, remove the alternator drive pulley, then the belt from the crankshaft toothed pulley and the pulley itself.
The old oil seal is removed from the oil pump cover and a new oil seal is pressed in with a mandrel 67.7853.9580, having previously been lubricated with engine oil.
A toothed pulley is installed on the crankshaft and a belt is put on it. Install the alternator drive pulley and secure it with a bolt and nut. Put the alternator drive belt on the pulleys and adjust its tension (see sect. «Engine settings»). Install the engine splash guard.
They drop the car. Slightly tension the toothed belt with the tension roller, turning the roller axis counterclockwise. Turn the crankshaft clockwise two turns and check that the timing marks on the camshaft pulley match (see fig. 6) and flywheel (see fig. 52).
If the marks do not match, then loosen the belt with a tension roller, remove it from the camshaft pulley, adjust the position of the pulley, put on the belt and, slightly pulling it with a tension roller, again check the coincidence of the alignment marks by turning the crankshaft two turns.
If the marks match, then adjust the toothed belt tension (see ibid) and install the front toothed belt guard. Put on and secure the right front wheel.
Connect the wire to the terminal «minus» battery, check and then adjust the ignition setting.
