Removal
1. Remove the air filter (see "Air filter - removal and installation").
2. Remove the decorative engine cover (see "Engine trim - removal and installation").

On the VAZ 21124 (l.6i) engine
a) Remove the ignition coils (see "Ignition coils of the VAZ 21124 engine (1.6i) - checking and replacement").
b) Remove the intake module (see "Engine intake module 21124 (1.6i) - removal, installation, replacement").
On the VAZ 2112 (l.5i) engine
a) Remove the ignition module (see "Ignition module of the VAZ 2112 engine (1.5i) - checking, removal and installation").
b) Remove the receiver (see "Engine receiver 2112 (1.5i) - removal and installation").
c) Disconnect the crankcase ventilation hose from the cover pipe.
4. Using a 10 mm wrench, unscrew the mounting bolt and remove the injector wiring harness connector bracket from the cylinder head cover.

5. Using a 10 mm wrench, unscrew the mounting bolt and remove the TPS wiring harness mounting bracket from the cover (throttle position sensor) and IAC (idle speed controller).

6. Using an 8 mm socket wrench, unscrew the 15 (or 14) cover mounting bolts.

7. Remove the cylinder head cover.

8. Using an 8 mm wrench, unscrew the six bolts securing the oil deflector.

9. Using a slotted screwdriver, press the oil filler neck fasteners.

10. Remove the oil deflector from the cover.

11. By rocking it from side to side, remove the oil filler neck.

Installation
1. Assemble the cylinder head cover in reverse order.
2. Before installing the cylinder head, it is necessary to apply a thin layer of anaerobic sealant Loctite-574 or similar to the mating surfaces of the bearing housing in accordance with the diagram shown in the photograph.

Warning: When repairing an engine, do not use sealant with a high silicone content (silicon compounds), vapors of which can enter the cylinders through the crankcase ventilation system and then into the exhaust tract. You should use a sealant that is specifically indicated on the packaging as being safe for the oxygen concentration sensor.
We install the engine cylinder head cover in place on the car. We tighten the cover mounting bolts in the direction from the middle to the edges with a torque of 2.0-4.6 N·m (0.2-0.5 kgf·m).
