Removing
1. Remove the air filter (see "Air filter - removal and installation").
2. Remove the engine trim (see "Decorative overlay of the engine - removal and installation").

On the VAZ 21124 engine (l,6i)
A) Removing ignition coils (see "Ignition coils of the VAZ 21124 engine (1,6i) - check and replacement").
b) Removing the intake module (see "Engine intake module 21124 (1,6i) - removal, installation, replacement").
On the VAZ 2112 engine (l,5i)
A) Removing the ignition module (see "Engine ignition module VAZ 2112 (1,5i) - check, removal and installation").
b) We remove the receiver (see "Engine receiver 2112 (1,5i) - removal and installation").
V) Disconnect the crankcase ventilation hose from the cover pipe.
4. Using a 10 mm wrench, unscrew the fastening bolt and remove the bracket for the injector wiring harness connector from the block head cover.
5. Using a 10 mm wrench, unscrew the fastening bolt and remove the bracket for fastening the TPS wiring harness from the cover (throttle position sensor) and IAC (idle speed controller).
6. With an 8 mm socket wrench, turn off 15 (or 14) cover bolts.
7. Remove the cylinder head cover.
8. Using an 8 mm wrench, unscrew the six bolts securing the oil deflector.
9. Use a slotted screwdriver to wring out the retainers of the oil filler neck.
10. Remove the oil deflector from the cover.
11. Shaking from side to side, remove the oil filler neck.
Installation
1. We assemble the cylinder head cover in reverse order.
2. Before installing the cylinder head, it is necessary to apply a thin layer of Loktite-574 anaerobic sealant or similar to the mating surfaces of the bearing housing in accordance with the diagram shown in the photograph.
Warning. When repairing the engine, do not use a sealant with a high content of silicone (silicon compounds), whose vapors can get through the crankcase ventilation system into the cylinders and further into the exhaust tract. Use a sealant that specifically states on the packaging that it is safe for the oxygen sensor.
We install the engine cylinder head cover on the car in place. We tighten the cover fastening bolts in the direction from the middle to the edges with a torque of 2.0-4.6 N.m (0.2-0.5 kgf-m).
