Warning. Before performing work on the removal of the fuel rail, read the safety regulations for the maintenance and repair of the power system (see "Safety measures for the maintenance and repair of the power system").
Removing
1. Relieve fuel pressure in the fuel line (see "Fuel Line - Pressure Relief").
2. Remove the intake manifold (see "Engine intake manifold 21124 (1,6i) - removal, installation, replacement").
3. Disconnect the wiring harness connectors from the injectors.
4. We cut the two clamps of the wiring harness to the fuel rail and take the harness to the side.
5. With a 17 mm open-end wrench, unscrew the fitting of the fuel pipe from the fuel rail, holding the hex end of the fuel rail with a wrench of the same size.
6. Using a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the screw securing the fuel pipe.
7. Remove the end of the fuel line tube from the fuel rail.
Warning. If the fuel pipe O-ring is damaged, it must be replaced.
8. Remove the sealing rubber ring from the fuel line tube.
9. With a 5 mm hex wrench, unscrew the two bolts securing the fuel rail to the cylinder head.
10. Remove the fuel rail assembly with injectors.
Installation
We install the fuel rail and all removed parts on the car in reverse order.
Recommendation. Before installing the fuel rail, replace the lower injector rings.
