Remove the windshield pillar trim, steering column trim, instrument cluster (see section "Electrical equipment") and disconnect the connectors and plugs of the vehicle's electrical wiring harness.
Pull out the handle of the instrument lighting switch, unscrew the fastening knob and remove the switch.
Remove the storage shelf 6 (Fig. 8-28) and the radio panel, having first unscrewed the fastening screws; disconnect the wires from the radio, cigarette lighter, windshield wiper and headlight washer switch, and hazard warning switch.

Loosen the mounting screws and remove the glove compartment housing 3.
Remove the handles from the heater control levers by using a flat, sharp tool to bend the lower part of the upper handle at the junction with the lever, and the upper part of the lower handle at the junction with the lever.
Unscrew the four screws of the lower fastening (Fig. 8-29) of the instrument panel to the front crossmember, and through the openings of the glove compartment and instrument panel, unscrew the four nuts of the upper fastening of the panel to the front, then remove the instrument panel.
