Device of the exhaust gas system (VAZ-2101)

The exhaust is carried out through the exhaust pipe, the inlet pipe 2 (Fig. 37), the additional and main mufflers 5 and 6. Between the flanges of the exhaust pipe and the inlet pipe, a sealing gasket 1 made of asbestos reinforced with perforated steel tape is installed. Non-separable mufflers are made of two half-bodies welded together and with their pipes. The main muffler 6 is fastened to the body floor with two belts, its outlet pipe - with a rubber cushion 7. The muffler pipes are connected with clamps 4. The inlet pipe 2 is fastened to the exhaust pipe with four brass nuts and to bracket 3, installed on the rear cover of the gearbox.

On VAZ-2102 and VAZ-21021 vehicles, the exhaust pipe 8 is bent.
