For minor wing damage (small dents, scratches, etc.), without removing it, straighten and paint. After straightening, check the condition of the internal anti-corrosion coating, restore it if necessary.
In case of significant deformations, breaks, replace the wing with a new one.
Remove the bumper, hood and front door.
Cut off the wing with a thin sharp chisel or grinder along the lines shown in fig. 8-5.
Detach the wing, remove the remaining wing strips, straighten the deformed edges and clean them with an electric or pneumatic grinder.
Install the front door and new fender, secure the fender with the quick release hooks.
Weld the wing at the points indicated by the arrows in the figure using carbon dioxide arc welding. Soldering is allowed. As a filler material, solder bars L62, L63 with a diameter of 2-3 mm can be used.
Install the hood and check the position of the wing. Protrusion or retraction of the wing relative to the door or hood is allowed no more than 2 mm, the gaps of the wing with the hood and the door along the front surface must be (5±2) mm.
Remove the hood and door.
Weld the fender by resistance welding in 40-50 mm increments to the front sidewall strut, mudguard and front guard. Gas welding with brass solder or electric arc welding in a carbon dioxide environment with a discontinuous seam 7-10 mm long every 50-60 mm is allowed. Perform electric welding using a semi-automatic wire with St. 08G1S or St. 08G2S with a diameter of 0.8 mm.
Weld the wing to the front panel by flashing the edges of the welding flanges with an interrupted seam 5-7 mm long with a step of 40-70 mm.
