Removing
1. We prepare the car for repair work (see paragraphs 2b and 4 "Preparing the car for maintenance and repair").
2. We clean the brake pressure regulator and the regulator drive mechanism from dirt.
3. We process the fittings of the brake pipes screwed into the pressure regulator with penetrating lubricant WD-40.
4. With a slotted screwdriver, we bend the edges of the retainer for fastening the elastic lever, the brake pressure regulator to the rear axle lever.
5. We remove the lever of the brake pressure regulator from the earring.
6. Four brake pipes fit the pressure regulator: two supply pipes (from the brake master cylinder) and two outlets (to working brake cylinders). On the body of the brake pressure regulator there are embossed arrows indicating the connection points for the inlet and outlet brake pipes. To facilitate assembly, we mark the order of connecting the brake pipes to the rear brake pressure regulator.
7. Using a special wrench, we loosen the fitting of the brake pipe suitable for the pressure regulator from the end, hold the tip of the regulator with a 21 mm open-end wrench.
8. Using a special key, we loosen the fittings of the three brake pipes suitable for the pressure regulator from the side.
9. Finally unscrew the fitting with an open-end wrench of the same size.
Warning. When disconnecting the brake pipes from the pressure regulator, make sure that the pipes do not rotate with the fittings. If the brake pipe is twisted, it must be replaced.
10. Using a 10 mm socket wrench, unscrew the two nuts securing the rear brake pressure regulator bracket to the car body.
11. Remove the brake pressure regulator assembly with the bracket and levers.
12. Using a 13 mm wrench, unscrew the rear bolt securing the pressure regulator to the bracket.
13. Using a wrench of the same size, unscrew the bolt securing the plate adjusting bracket.
14. Remove the mounting bracket and levers from the brake pressure regulator.
Installation
1. We assemble and install the rear brake pressure regulator and all removed parts on the car in the reverse order of removal.
2. We connect the brake pipes in accordance with the marks applied during disassembly.
3. Tighten the fittings of the brake pipes with a special key.
4. We pump the hydraulic drive of the brake system on the car (see "Bleeding the brakes (brake system), brake fluid change")
5. We adjust the drive of the brake pressure regulator.
