- place the car on a level surface and brake it with the parking brake and first gear engaged;
- get the spare tire and tool;
- loosen the bolts of the wheel being replaced by one turn using combination wrench 2 (Fig. 49);
- install jack 1 so that the notch in the jack stop fits into the sill edge closer to the wheel being replaced, and the heel of the jack is located exactly under the stop. To facilitate finding the correct place to install the jack, special stampings are made on the thresholds of the car. By turning the jack handle (position I) raise the wheel above the supporting surface to a height of 50-60 mm. If the distance to the supporting surface does not allow the handle to turn a full turn, rotate the handle along a small radius (position II);
- loosen the bolts and remove the wheel. Install the spare wheel, tighten the mounting bolts evenly in a cross pattern;
- lower the car and remove the jack. Tighten the bolts and check the tire pressure.
After completing the work, place the replaced wheel 3 (Fig. 50) in niche 1 of the luggage compartment, secure it with screw 2 and cover the niche with mat 4.
ATTENTION! Some vehicles with cast wheels use a stamped and welded spare wheel.
