- 1. Before each ride, check and correct the air pressure in the tires.
- 2. Avoid driving on heavy roads (deep mud or snow, sands, steep slopes).
- 3. Avoid trailer towing.
- 4. Downshift in a timely manner in the gearbox according to the driving conditions, avoiding overloading the engine.
- 5. Do not change the oil in the crankcase, as a special oil is poured at the factory to improve the running-in of engine parts.
The car is easy to drive, has high dynamic and high-speed qualities on the highway, as well as increased cross-country ability in wet dirt roads, sandy and snowy terrain. However, you should always remember that the vehicle is not intended for permanent operation in difficult road conditions.
When operating the vehicle on heavy road sections of roads (mud, sand) after a thorough washing, the condition of the protective rubber covers of the suspension ball bearings, steering rod joints, front wheel drive joints should be checked more often after a thorough wash. If necessary, replace damaged covers with new ones, as dirt and water getting into them cause increased wear of the hinges.
Do not exceed the vehicle load specified in the Manual. Overloading causes damage to the front suspension elements, bending of the rear axle beam, premature tire wear, body vibration and loss of vehicle stability. The weight of the cargo with the luggage rack installed on the roof of the car must not exceed 50 kg without exceeding the payload.
In the cold season, before turning on the windshield wipers, make sure that the brushes are not frozen to the windows. Failure to comply with this recommendation can lead not only to breakage of the brushes, but also to the failure of their electric drives.
The soft suspension of the car absorbs vibrations well even when driving fast on rough roads. However, sharp impacts can deform the axles of the lower arms and damage other parts of the vehicle's undercarriage. Therefore, when driving on such roads, do not develop high speed.
To lubricate units and assemblies, fill the fuel tank, use materials recommended by the factory. Failure to comply with this recommendation will result in premature failure of the vehicle units. It should be especially remembered that AI-93 gasoline, painted orange-red, is leaded. Leaded gasoline is poisonous. Therefore, do not allow it to come into contact with the skin of hands, clothing, upholstery, and do not carry out work that could result in leaded gasoline or its vapors entering the oral cavity.
Do not engage the starter while the engine is running. Doing so may break the teeth of the drive gear or flywheel.
It is not allowed to move the car with the help of a starter. Start the vehicle in first gear with the parking brake lever fully released. Remember that exhaust gases are poisonous. Therefore, the room where the engine is started and warmed up must be well ventilated.
Do not operate the vehicle with the low oil pressure warning light on. It is allowed to light the lamp at the minimum frequency of rotation of the crankshaft in idle mode. Lighting up of the lamp in the operating modes of the engine indicates insufficient pressure in the lubrication system.
Never allow the engine to operate at a crankshaft speed at which the tachometer needle is in the red zone of the scale. The tachometer needle in the yellow zone indicates that the crankshaft speed is approaching the maximum allowable.
Operating tires with pressures other than those recommended will result in premature tire wear and poor vehicle stability and controllability.
The design of the car used high-performance disc front brakes. However, their long life can only be ensured with proper care - do not allow the accumulation of dried dirt in the brakes and flush them after driving in deep mud.
Constantly monitor the cleanliness of the terminals and clamps of the battery and the reliability of their connections. Remember that the oxidation of terminals and clamps, as well as their careless connection, cause sparking at the place of unreliable contact, which can lead to failure of the car's electronic equipment. For the same reason, it is not allowed to check the operability of the generator with the engine running by removing the clamps from the battery.
The vehicle has a high energy ignition system. Therefore, it is not allowed to start the engine using a spark gap, and with the engine running, disconnect high-voltage wires and check the high-voltage circuits for «spark», as this can lead to burnout of high-voltage parts and failure of the ignition system.
When installing the battery on the car, make sure that the wires are connected in accordance with the polarity indicated on their tips and battery terminals (positive terminal is greater than negative).
When charging the battery directly on the vehicle from an external source of current, be sure to disconnect it from the generator. The battery is connected to the terminal «30» alternator positive wire (tip «+»).
Lighting up the lamp «CHECK ENGINE» running a fuel injected engine does not mean that the engine must be stopped immediately; the controller has standby modes that allow the engine to operate in conditions close to normal. However, the cause of the lamp lighting should be determined by a maintenance facility as soon as possible.
The engine of a fuel injection vehicle with a catalytic converter and an oxygen concentration sensor works properly if only unleaded gasoline is used. Leaded gasoline in a short time disables these elements, smoky exhaust appears, and fuel consumption increases sharply.
The converter can also fail in case of misfiring in the ignition system, since in this case clean fuel will enter the converter and the temperature in it will rise sharply, which will cause cracks in the ceramic block. Therefore, regularly carry out all the work prescribed by the service book for the care of the ignition system. For the same reason, do not start the engine by towing.
Due to the fact that the converter has a high temperature, make sure when parking the car that there is no dry grass or other combustible material under the converter (rags, shavings, etc.).
