To complete the work you will need:
- inspection pit or overpass;
- wide capacity, with a volume of at least 8 liters.
Sequence of execution
1. Prepare the car for work (see "Preparing the car for maintenance and repair").
2. Remove the engine splash guard (see "Engine Mudguard - Removal and Installation").
3. Place a container under the engine radiator drain hole.
4. Unscrew the radiator drain plug (the photo shows a view from above) and drain the coolant.
5. Unscrew and remove the expansion tank cap.
6. On an 8-valve engine, remove the ignition module (coil) mounting bracket (see "Ignition module (coil) for engines 2111 and 21114 (8v) - checking and replacement").
7. Move the container under the drain hole of the cylinder block, located on the front side of the engine next to the clutch housing. Using a socket wrench by 13 mm unscrew the drain plug.
8. Screw the drain plugs back into place.
9. Fill the expansion tank with new coolant (see table 16.4).
Tip: Use a coolant with a freezing point 10-15°C below the average minimum winter temperature in the region where the vehicle will be used.
10. Fill the fluid to the upper mark of the expansion tank. Start the engine and let it run at high speed until the electric fan turns on. Add fluid when the level in the tank drops.
Warning! Mixing antifreezes of different brands is generally not allowed.
