According to the manufacturer's recommendation, the fuel filter must be replaced after every 30,000 km.
Attention! Before starting work, read the safety rules for working with the power supply system (see "Safety precautions for maintenance and repair of the power supply system").
Removal
1. Prepare the car for work (see "Preparing the car for maintenance and repair").
Advice: If there is no inspection pit or overpass, this operation can be performed on a level surface. But in this case, the rear of the car must be lifted.
2. Relieve the pressure in the fuel line (see "Fuel line - pressure relief").
Caution! The fuel line pressure should be released even if the vehicle has not been used for a long time. After the pressure is released, a small amount of fuel remains in the fuel line.
3. Wipe the fuel filter and the fuel line tubes connected to it with a cloth. Treat the thread of the filter clamp tightening bolt with penetrating lubricant.
Advice: Before disconnecting the tube tip from the filter, prepare a small wide container with a capacity of at least 0.5 l to drain the remaining gasoline from the fuel line.
4. For cars with engines 2111 and 2112:
a) With an open-end wrench by 19 mm, holding the filter from rotating by the hexagonal branch pipe, with a second open-end wrench by 17 mm unscrew the fuel supply line fitting (1).
b) Similarly, disconnect the fuel outlet line fitting (2).
Recommendation: There are rubber sealing rings on the ends of the fuel line tubes. The rings must be replaced before assembly.
For vehicles with engines 21114 and 21124:
a) Press the spring lock.
b) While holding the lock in the pressed position, remove the connecting tip of the fuel line tube from the outlet pipe of the fuel filter.
c) Similarly, remove the connecting tip of the fuel line tube from the inlet pipe of the fuel filter.
5. Key by 10 mm we unscrew the clamp bolt of the fuel filter mounting clamp.
6. Remove the filter from the clamp.
Installation
We install the new filter in the reverse order.
Warning! Pay attention to the arrow on the filter housing indicating the direction of fuel flow. On cars with 2111 and 2112 engines, the arrow should point to the left, and on cars with 21114 and 21124 engines - to the right side
After connecting the fuel line tubes to the fuel filter, turn on the ignition for 5 seconds and check the tightness of the connections. If fuel leaks, replace the sealing rings in the leaky fuel line connections.
