If there is deformation, the parts are straightened and, if necessary, replaced with new ones.
Removal and installation the hood
Open the hood and disconnect the stop from the bracket on the body. Unscrew the bolts securing the hinges to the hood and remove the hood. Install the hood in the reverse order. The hood in the body opening should be positioned with a gap around the perimeter of (4.5±2) mm (see fig. 179). When adjusting, outline the contours of the hinges and loosen the hinge fastenings. Using the enlarged holes in the hinges, adjust the position of the hood and finally tighten the hinge bolts.
Adjusting the hood lock
In cases of unreliable hood locking or increased force when unlocking, adjust the position of the lock. With the hood open, outline the contours of the body 1 (see fig. 191) of the lock and loosen the fastening nuts. Using the enlarged holes, move the body in the desired direction, tighten the nuts and check the operation of the lock.
Removal, installation and adjustment of the trunk lid. Removal and installation are similar to removal and installation of the hood, except for disconnecting the stop. The position of the trunk lid is adjusted in the same way as the position of the hood by loosening nuts 2 (see fig. 192) fastening of hinges. The sizes of gaps along the perimeter are shown in fig. 179.
If the lock is 1 (see fig. 192) the cover is unlocked or locked with force, adjust the position of the lock. To do this, outline the contours of the lock and the retainer, loosen the fastenings of the lock and the retainer and move them to a new position. Slightly tighten the bolts, check the operation and finally fasten the lock and the retainer.
The force required to open the lid is adjusted by moving the ends of the torsion bars 4 to one of the locking teeth of the hinge 3.
Removal and installation bumpers
Bumpers are attached to the body at four points to brackets that are placed between the body and the bumper. To remove the bumper, unscrew the bolts that attach the brackets to the body and remove the bumper assembly with the brackets. Bumpers are installed in the reverse order.
