In most emergency cases with damage to the roof, it is required to replace it. When replacing the roof panel, remove the gutters, windscreen, rear window, upholstery and roof accessories. The new panel is placed on the roof of the body and the places for cutting the side panels and A-pillars are determined. Stepping back from the edge of the roof panel 8 mm, cutting is carried out along the bends of the connections with the sidewalls of the body, with the panels of the wind window frame and with the cross member of the rear window frame. The side panels of the roof are cut 10-15 mm above the markup. Disconnect the roof panel, remove the remaining strips of the roof and clean the seats of the body and the new panel. The body elements are straightened at the junctions with the panel and the new roof panel is adjusted in place. At the points shown in Fig. 182 by arrows, weld the roof panel by gas welding to the wind window panel and roof side panel. The fit of the panel is checked and resistance welding with a step of 40-50 mm is welded to the panel of the wind window frame, to the cross member of the rear window and to the sidewalls. Gas welding is welded to the side panels of the roof. After welding, glue is applied to the gaps between the panel and the roof reinforcements and gaskets are laid from the expanding mass (TU 38-105410-78).
