Replacement of roof panel of VAZ-2101 and VAZ-21011 cars (VAZ-2101)

In most accidents with roof damage, it is necessary to replace it. When replacing the roof panel, remove the gutter trims, windshield and rear window, upholstery and roof accessories. Place the new panel on the roof of the body and determine the places for cutting the side panels and front pillars. Stepping back 8 mm from the edge of the roof panel, cut along the bends of the joints with the side members of the body, with the windshield frame panels and with the cross member of the rear window frame. Cut the side roof panels above the marking by 10-15 mm. Disconnect the roof panel, remove the remaining roof strips and clean the seats of the body and the new panel. Straighten the body elements at the joints with the panel and adjust the new roof panel in place. At the points shown by arrows in Fig. 182, gas weld the roof panel to the windshield panel and the side roof panel. The fit of the panel is checked and it is welded to the windshield frame panel, to the rear window crossbar and to the side panels using contact welding at 40-50 mm intervals. It is welded to the side roof panels using gas welding. After welding, glue is applied to the gaps between the panel and the roof reinforcements and sealing gaskets made of expanding mass are laid in (TU 38-105410-78).
