The body consists of individual elements (pic. 172), which are stamped from sheet, low-carbon, cold-rolled steel. Parts and assemblies are welded together using resistance spot welding. Heavily loaded parts are additionally welded by electric arc welding.
The front of the body has a vertical shield 6, mudguards 26 of the front fenders, racks of mudguards 27, instrument panel crossbars 10, an air intake box 7, an upper front crossbar with headlight covers 3.
The floor of the body with the rear panel consists of the front 24 and rear floors, the trunk floor 21, the spare wheel floor, the fuel tank floor and the rear panel 15. Spars 2, 19 and floor cross members 16, 22 and 23, connectors of the central pillars, a transverse link bracket and other parts are welded to the floor panels.
The rear of the body includes the inner and outer arches 20 of the rear wheels, the inner side panels of the roof, the frame 14 of the partition with a shelf.
The front body parts include: front and rear fenders 4 and 18, roof panel 11, outer sidewall panels 8, roof side panels 13, wind window frame 9, rear window frame panel 12, front and rear panels 1 and 15. To the outer panels sidewalls are welded inner panels, amplifier 25 front pillars and other small parts.
External panels are stamped from 0.7 mm thick steel; front floor and roof panel 0.9 mm; mud flaps of the front fenders, rear wheel arches, spars, floor cross members 1.0 mm; heavily loaded parts (front spars, B-pillars) 1.5 mm.
Removable units are hung on the welded body: doors, hood cover 17 of the trunk (or tailgate for vehicles 2102 and 21021).
