Checking the performance of the pressure regulator on the car (VAZ-2108)

Place the vehicle on a lift or inspection pit, clean the pressure regulator and its drive parts from dirt. Visually inspect to ensure that the pressure regulator and its drive parts are not damaged, there is no leakage of brake fluid, plug 24 (see figure 107) is recessed into the housing hole by 1-2 mm, there is no play in the connection of the earring 11 (see figure 106) with elastic lever 10 and bracket finger 15.

Ask the assistant to press the brake pedal. Piston 2 (see figure 107) should extend from the housing by 1.6-2.4 mm, pressing the spring 7 (see figure 106) until it stops against lever 5. The latter, overcoming the force from the elastic lever 10, will turn relative to axis 4. Failure to meet the listed requirements, the absence of piston travel, as well as its insufficient or excessive travel indicate a malfunction of the regulator or its drive. In this case, repair or replace the pressure regulator, and after its installation, adjust the drive (see section. "Adjusting the pressure regulator drive").
