Checking the performance of the pressure regulator (VAZ-2109)

Place the vehicle on a lift or inspection pit, clean the pressure regulator and its drive parts from dirt. Visually inspect to ensure that the pressure regulator and its drive parts are not damaged, there is no fluid leakage, plug 24 (see figure 82) is recessed into the housing hole by 1...2 mm, there is no play in the connection of the earring 11 (see figure 81) with elastic lever 10 and finger 15 of the bracket. Ask an assistant to press the brake pedal. Piston 2 (see figure 82) should extend from the housing by 1.6...2.4 mm, compressing the leaf spring 7 (see figure 81) until it stops against lever 5. Lever 5, overcoming the force from elastic lever 10, will turn relative to pin 4.

Failure to comply with the listed requirements, lack of piston movement, as well as its insufficient or excessive stroke indicate a malfunction of the regulator or its drive. In this case, you should contact a service station to repair or replace faulty parts or units.
