Remove the front toothed belt guard and turn the crankshaft at its bolt clockwise two turns.
Check belt tension. It is considered normal if in the middle part of the branch between the pulleys of the camshaft and crankshaft the belt is twisted by 90°with a finger force of 1.5... 2 kgf (see fig. 26). If the force is below the norm, then you should loosen the nut of the tension roller, turn its axis by the hex head by 10... 15°counterclockwise and tighten the axle nut.
Rotate the crankshaft two turns clockwise again and check the belt tension. If it is again insufficient, then repeat the operation to tension the belt.
If the tension is normal, then tighten the tension roller axle mounting nut to a torque of 4 kgf·m and install the toothed belt front protective cover. Excessive belt tension must be avoided, as this will significantly shorten the life of the belt.
Turn the crankshaft only in the direction of tightening the bolt (clockwise). When tensioning the belt, it is forbidden to turn the crankshaft by rotation of the camshaft pulley or its fastening bolt.
